Taco Pizza Pie

Topped with fresh basil, Taco Pizza Pie is easy and Some Kinda Good.

Here’s a fun take on taco night! All the flavors we love in tacos on a pizza. Just a few store-bought ingredients, plus refrigerator and pantry staples, like cheddar cheese and a taco seasoning packet, and you’re good to go. Have fun with the toppings – feel free to add olives, green onions, or even lettuce and serve with sour cream and guacamole

Taco Pizza Pie comes together quickly with just a few pantry staples and is a fun take on taco night!

Some Kinda Good Taco Pizza Pie

  1. 1 tube of pizza crust, such as Pillsbury

  2. 1 cup taco sauce, such as Ortega

  3. 1 medium onion, diced

  4. 1 jalapeno pepper, diced and seeded (Remove the white veins and seeds if you do not want it to be spicy.)

  5. 1 pound of lean ground beef

  6. 1 taco seasoning packet

  7. 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

  8. 1 Roma tomato, sliced into rounds

  9. Fresh basil, for garnish

Spray a 9 x 13 casserole dish with cooking spray. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spread pizza crust evenly in the dish until the bottom is covered and dough reaches up the sides. Bake the crust for 8 minutes, just until edges are browned. Spread taco sauce over crust. Brown ground beef with onion and jalapeno pepper until cooked. Season with taco seasoning and pour in beef broth, instead of water, following taco packet directions. Top sauce with ground beef mixture, 1 cup of cheese, then tomato. Top with remaining cheese and bake for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly before cutting. Top with fresh basil.
